The fight continues

Anyone stumbling across this blog, (I'm enough of a realist to acknowledge the chance of people reading on a regular basis is remote) may note that it has been months since my last post. Between trying to rear a child single handed, settling into a new full time job and keeping a local welfare organisation running in my local community, I have had little time to write material. In fact, this weekend I was seriously contemplating giving up both this blog and my involvement in the Healthfraud discussion newsgroup.

Two posts from the discussion group prompted me not only to stay involved, but to make this post and put aside at least 1 hour each week to make more posts. Last weekend, I heard of another 3 innocent children that have lost their lives due to the scourge that is alternative medicine.

9 year old Rachel Bundy died of what is believed to be viral meningitis after being ill for about a month. Her parents did not get real medical help, but relied upon S.C.A.M. to treat their child. The news article does not state exactly what S.C.A.M. treatment was used, but does mention a logbook of treatments and that the police are investigating homeopathy. It looks like this may be yet another case of death by water.

For those who are not familiar with homeopathy, I recommend you read some of the articles listed on Paul Lee's Homeolinks site. For a harder edged and less tactful view, read Peter Bowditch's article titled "All the idiocy that fits". For those who wants the short answer, it's water (shaken, not stirred) or if in tablet form, it's sugar.

Many people have told me that there is nothing wrong with natural medicine, that homeopathy can't do any damage. 9 year old Rachel Bundy appears to be another example of how wrong these people are. While technically, the homeopathic treatment may not kill, withholding real medical treatment from a child for a month, while expecting mere water to cure certainly can.

Homeopathy kills by preventing or delaying the administering of real medical care.

The other post was a story about 2 children, aged 2 and 4 who were shot by their mother, Charlene Dorcy. Charlene suffers from paranoid Schizophrenia and had been on medication for the condition. Unfortunately, she decided to swap her scientifically proven medication for unproven herbal remedies, that are rumoured to have fewer side effects. The end result is that her condition worsened and she killed her two children.

We will never know if the deaths would have been avoided if the correct medication had been used, but we must question why an untested herbal treatment was substituted for a proven medical treatment. Are these two more children that could have been saved if not for the intervention by S.C.A.M.?

Both of these incidents occurred outside Australia's door, but it makes you wonder why in Australia, our government allows unlicensed, unqualified, untrained people to make recommednations such as taking a homeopathic treatment or stop taking medicine in exchange for an untested herbal remedy.

I downloaded a copy of the report into the Australian S.C.A.M. industry that was released recently after the Pan Pharmacueticals debacle. The laws in Australia require no evidence of efficacy, just label the ingredients correctly. Pan failed to even get that right.

For reigniting the fire within I would like to thank fellow Australian and oncologist Peter Moran for posting the Rachel Bundy information, Dr Terry Polevoy for posting the Charlene Dorcy case and Peter Bowditch & Paul Lee for allowing me to link their web-sites.

Ah yes....Moran, Polevoy & Bowditch! True truth sayers!

Moron: Thinks cancer is profliferative disease.....brilliant!

Polevoy: Believes the best way to encourage debate and have regulators take action is through libel, defamation and stalking!

And, of course, Bowditch: Contiunes to avoid the cause of his daughter's attemtped suicide by blaming everyone else.

Great men with great idea!

I suppose Mr. O'Neill would sue Mr. Bowditch if Mr. Bowditch had any assets. Unfortunately, I sued Mr. Bowditch, won, but found he has no assets - worthless.....

And you are...?

And doubtless you have proof?

Oh, and by the way, if you can spare the time from obsessing about Mr. Bowditch, would you know offhand if the Canadian Cancer Research Group endorses Homeopathy, or is it part of CCRG's "ISMĀ© approach including clinical assessment, diagnostics and therapeutics"?

Getting nasty here? I recently did some work around the Bowditch "estate" and am still waiting to get paid. The first cheque Bowditch gave resolved the perpetual motion issue....the next cheque I get I'm sure will be court ordered.....

Mr Paine? Tell me...did you ever get that little problem solved with your disability benefits? I was so sorry to hear your lovely wife just got up and left.....

Our anonymous poster, which is most likely Mr. O'Neill again, has me at a disadvantage. Anonymous appears happy to reveal details about me, but does not have the courage to have his/her identity revealed.

Anonymous, I did get my disability benefits worked out. After spending years going to naturopaths and other quacks, I got advice and treatment from a real medical doctor.

I am now fully recovered, fully employed and using this blog to prevent other people falling victim to the same type of health fraud.

Thank you for your concern for my wellbeing, although I doubt your sincerity.

For those unfamiliar with Mr. O'Neill's activities, I suggest the links posted by Peter Bowditch are worth following.

Thank you, Mr. Paine, for telling us what it is about alternative medicince that prompted you to both start and maintain this blog.

As for your Anonymous poster, who may or may not be the legendary William P. O'Neill of the Canadian Cancer Research Group in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and whose internet ouvre is duly recorded for all to see on Mr. Bowditch's site, I will agree with him/her/it that I was probably a bit nasty. However, I find it fascinating that he/she/it responded to my request for proof with more unproven claims, then proceeded to attack you for no apparent reason.

Other than relying on the opinions of others like Skepto-Tard Bowditch what facts are you capable of understanding that disprove Homeopathy? Better yet have you chosen to follow the unfounded beliefs of DimWits like Bowditch because he simply got your attention with a shiney metal object....

I note you quote experts like Polevoy and Bowditch. Polevoy is no doubt the same who has spent the better part of his useless life obsessing and stalking any number of victims including children. And Bowditch is no doubt the unemployed computer criminal Australian who has a police record of beating his family.

Now I believe everything you publish.

I imagine Wallaceburg is unable to substantiate the claims made about Messrs Polevoy and Bowditch.

Perhaps Wallaceburg may be interested in the legal web-site regarding slander on web-sites and newsgroups operated by Mr. Polevoy?

Funny you should mention slander, libel and defamation! Bowditch, liar, criminal, fraud & charlatan is currently in front of an Australian court defending charges of slander, libel, and defamation. Bowditch will no doubt be found guilty because he is a liar, defamor, libelist.

Yea! I'd be interested in that "legal" website run Polevoy. Is that the "legal" website where Polevoy decries people pickin' on him just like all the people he's been pickin' on for year.

And you want claims regarding Polevoy substantiated? You can read. Can't you? Query Polevoy and criminal or lawsuit in any search engine. And Bowditch, you've got to be kidding. He's presently in front of an Australian court fighting for his useless life in a libel and defamation action. Have the NSW poloce ever been called to the lovely Bowditch homesetad at ^ Caprerra in Parramatta 'cause Pete had drunk just a little too much again? Call the NSW Police and ask. They decsribe him as a recidivist drunk and child beater.

IF....You don't think that alternative medicine can cure you then you need to go to www.glycoscience.org and read!!! My sister in law and countless others are alive today because of it!

Rather than go to the web-site run by the Multi-Level-Marketing company Mannatech, may I suggest that you visit the web-site that shows the evidence against them in their legal action. This includes confirmation from sources within the company that management were aware that bogus claims were being made by distributers, but were ignored to avoid reducing sales and profits.

I have never replied to anything like this before. I read your blog on Rachael Bundy and felt very sad. I have known the Bundy's for a few years. What has been "leaked" to the press is twisted and NOT true. Rachael actually was at my home a few days before she paseed. She was not any "sicker" than most of the kids in Utah at that time. There was a flu going around that lasted for months. People would get well, think they were better and then get it again and again. We all had a sore neck. I even had a massage. The Dr's said it was a virus and would run it's course. There was nothing they could do. Rachael was playing with my little girl. She ate well and drank as usual. The papers here are reporting she was dehydrated. She was not. As I understand it, the day she passed, she awoke with a headaache. She told her dad as he was leaving that she did not feel well, but wanted to play in her room. Her mom stayed with her and then went to the kitchen for a few minutes. When she came back Rachael was drowning in fluids. Her bed was wet from the lungs. Her mom called 911. The ambulance stalled on the way to the hospital. That is when she passed. Menengitis kills quickly. I called the Dr's offices here because my daughter had been exposed. They told me to just watch her, that Rachael's case was rare, but happens. The Bundy's do not practice homeopathy. She treated her the same as the rest... With as much food as Rachael wanted and fresh juice and soup. Isn't that what we do when we are sick?
Please do not be so quick to believe what is reported. I have been around enough to witness this kind of repoting. I am sure you are a kind person. I would feel bad if this happened to you or your family.
Oh. The mom kept a journal because she is an actively licensed RN. That is what she is used to doing. Evedently that can get construed into being a fanatic... There is a great web site. www.therealrachaelbundystory.com
It will be added to regularly. Thank you for your time. You seem to have alot of compassion for those around you, hoping the world will be a better place. GOD BLESS YOU!
Becky
